Who doesn’t want to make money online? If you’re reading this, chances are you do! The internet has opened up countless possibilities for entrepreneurs, and now there are almost as many opportunities to make money online as there are ways to stay in touch with friends, family, and co-workers—but it can be hard to figure out which ways of making money will work best for you and your specific situation. With that in mind, we put together this list of the 10 best ways to make money online, based on your needs and resources.
#1 - List Building
One of my favorite ways to make money online is through email marketing. It’s simple, inexpensive and easy for beginners. You can create email campaigns for yourself or on behalf of someone else (with their permission). There are a ton of tutorials out there on how to do it effectively, but I recommend Neil Patel’s guide.
#2 - Paid Surveys
Paid surveys are pretty consistent and if you do them for a long enough time, you can earn some decent cash. They don't make much per survey, but if you complete enough of them and make $10 in total before your next payout, that's $10 that can go towards groceries or bills. This is definitely a good method for making money online if you have some spare time and don't want to rely on my first choice as earning potential.
# 3- Affiliate Marketing
It’s a low-cost investment and many of our favorite bloggers make six figures by doing it! If you want to get started with affiliate marketing, check out How to Make Money with Affiliate Marketing for Beginners . It’s an amazing guide that will teach you everything you need to know about making your first sale! You can also read our post on How Much Does an Affiliate Make?
#4 - Selling Products
Selling products is one of my favorite ways of making money online. Why? It's much easier than many of the other options. For example, it's fairly simple to sell your own information-based products if you have experience and expertise in a specific field.
#5 - Freelancing
Freelancing is a great way to make money on your own schedule. However, it does require more self-motivation and initiative than other options because you need to find work yourself. If you're an organized and proactive person, freelancing can be a good source of passive income. For more information, check out sites like Elance, Odesk, Zirtual and FlexJobs that either focus on remote work or list remote-friendly jobs in various fields.
#6 - E-books and Information Products
The single biggest way most Internet marketers make money online is through e-books and information products. The key is knowing what people want, which isn't as easy as it sounds. You need to do your research before sitting down to write anything. How do popular affiliate products solve common problems? Once you know what you're solving, you'll have a target audience, which makes it easier to create products that teach them how to solve their problem.
#7 - Dropshipping
Dropshipping involves setting up an online store that functions similarly to an eBay store. You simply list items for sale on your store and then when someone buys an item, they buy it from you and not from an actual retailer. The reason why many people like dropshipping is because you don’t have to invest money in inventory or upfront costs and you can still make a nice profit.
#8 - Investing in Cryptocurrencies
Investing in cryptocurrencies is speculative and risky, but it’s also extremely rewarding. You’ll learn more about both of these points as you dig into cryptocurrency. Let’s start with learning how to buy your first cryptocurrency. If you already have a bank account set up online, creating an account on Coinbase or another exchange will be easy. Setting up an account involves verifying your identity with a driver’s license and connecting your bank account to deposit money into your new digital wallet.
#9 - Cryptocurrency Trading
If you want to make money online, then cryptocurrency trading is an option you should look into. To get started, simply sign up for a free account with one of many reputable exchanges and begin conducting trades. As always, it’s important to do your due diligence on any exchange you decide to use. Do they have good customer service? How reliable is their platform in general? Once you create an account and fund your wallet with some fiat currency of your choice, it’s time to make some trades!
#10 - Renting Out Property
Do you have a spare room that you don’t use very often? Perhaps your own home is more luxurious than you need and sits empty for most of the year. Rather than paying for extra space, why not rent it out on sites like Airbnb or HomeAway? These types of websites make it easier than ever before to rent out your property and make money.
